2017, 2018 - Career Development at The Mill NYC
I have been fortunate to be able to spend two weeks at The Mill, a visual effects house in NYC. While there, I have been learning professional compositing techniques and tools used in the industry. This training directly helps my students in that I can confidently speak about how Nuke is used in compositing in a professional setting.
2017 - Fusion 360 training
Alumni Jeff Smith give a workshop on the use of Autodesk's Fusion 360 CAD program. I found this to be extremely useful for 3D printing. I have used this training to incorporate into my Advanced Modeling class.
2010 - 2016 - Master's Degree
A large portion of my extra time was used while attending RIT's School of Design's Visual Communications program. While working full time and attending school part time, I was able to earn my degree in Visual Communications.
2012 - Siggraph Exhibitor
I helped setup and run the School of Film and Animation (SOFA) exhibit booth. We had a booth to help market SOFA to the digital graphics community as well as answering questions for potential candidates. We had nine student volunteers that I supervised the booth. It was extremely successful.
2010 - Siggraph Exhibitor
I helped setup and run CIAS' exhebit booth. We had a combination of the School of Film and Animation, Design, Game Development, and New Media collaborate on a booth to help market RIT to the digital graphics community as well as answering questions for potential candidates.
